They say that a visit to Lanzarote must include, obligatorily, a walk through the Valley of La Geria, a vast expanse of volcanic ash located southwest of the island that makes five of the seven municipalities that make up Lanzarote. Its proximity to the Timanfaya National Park, visible by the strong contrast in the color of its soils, recalls the dramatic eruptions that in the early eighteenth century forever changed the interior orography. A route of Canary Island wines, with the possibility of visiting the vineyards that up to almost twenty wineries in the area open wide to the curious tourist.

A small bay, which could well figure among the landscapes of an extraterrestrial planet. In reality, it is the crater of a volcano, formed by strong eruptions that has been partially invaded by the ocean. The other half moon, occupied by a black sand beach and a lagoon of emerald green waters – its color is due to a high concentration of algae – offers a beautiful and desolate panorama.

Los Hervideros is an impressive set of rock formations located on the west coast of the island of Lanzarote which visit is a unique and impressive experience, as you can contemplate the natural spectacle of the force of the sea, the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, and the feeling of being in a completely wild and natural place.

Erected as a beautiful salt orchard, the bluish white of its fields contrasts with the dark earth of the neighboring Timanfaya Natural Park, illustrating perfectly how the Conejeros have known how to ally themselves with adversity. The colors produced by the salt with the contrast of the sea create a spectacular environment.

Papagayo beach is one of the most beautiful and photographed of the island. Despite its small size, it has a natural charm that leaves no one indifferent: its crystal clear waters and golden sand is the closest thing to paradise on the island of Lanzarote.

You can also visit other wonderful nearby protected beaches such as the parrot beach:

  • Playa de las Mujeres.
  • Rubicon Well.
  • Papagayo Cove and Point.
